Welcome to Science Weekend at the science center Vitenparken ! This weekend is all about taste , and our talented chef, Willy Alegria Johnsen, has prepared exciting taste experiences that will be fun for both children and adults.

Program Saturday and Sunday:
11 – 15

  • Food in the blind
What happens if we don't see what we taste? Join us on an exciting tasting trail where we test just that!
  • Street kitchen
This is a street food restaurant that is a bit out of the ordinary. Here you can taste game meat from animal species that are often unfortunate on Norwegian roads. The hyphenation in the title is not accidental.
  • Crazy Professor
Find the professor who makes nitrogen ice cream in the strangest flavors. What has he come up with now?
  • Do you dare?
We challenge you to taste ingredients that are often forgotten – offal, special delicacies and ingredients we used to eat more of.
  • Nail soup
Hear the story of the man who could cook soup on a nail – and join in conjuring up a meal from almost nothing.
  • Robot
Try making pancakes with a pancake robot!
  • Miracle Berry (for adults)
Experience how the miracle berry tricks our taste buds into spinning.
  • Smell-o-matic 3000
Pump out the scents and take the ultimate smell quiz – who has the sharpest nose?

As a science center with a strong focus on sustainable development , food is an important part of our work and our research dissemination. We explore not only food and its role in health and nutrition , but also how our senses affect the taste experience and our relationship with food .

In addition, we grow our own food in the VitenEnga school and kitchen garden , which is used in the dishes at Andedammen Café & Restaurant .

Join us for a weekend full of exciting flavors, science and fun!
