GreenSmart is now starting up its autumn breakfast seminars with five exciting cases from the master's course in urban agriculture. The seminars address important challenges and interesting issues within urban development, where urban agriculture can respond to social, ecological and economic sustainability.

At Friday's first seminar, we will give you a brief insight into the sustainability arena, and then a presentation from the newly launched master's program in urban agriculture. Here, the clients and the students themselves will tell about the exciting transdisciplinary projects that the students develop through student-active learning. The students have a very broad professional background; there are students with backgrounds such as landscape engineers, agronomists, technologists, foresters, artists, social workers, biologists, administrators, nurses, architects, lawyers, linguists, development studies and a lot of expertise from the working world. The common denominator is a burning commitment to food production and sustainable development in greener cities. GreenSmart will hold several breakfast seminars throughout the fall where you will meet different clients, students, issues and solutions!

On Friday, a work from Hovinbyen in Oslo will be presented, where OBOS has asked for input on how students envision OBOS using urban agriculture in one of its projects. The idea is that students should not only come up with good suggestions for the current issue in one specific location, but that this can be done generally for all property developers, so that the principles can be used for urban and densely populated areas throughout the country.

Join by logging in to this link and feel free to contribute your input and questions in the discussion after the presentations from OBOS and the students.

Welcome Friday 1 October at 08:15!
