Seeds of the Future – digital game about climate change

Seeds of the future new free teaching material for nature schools

Finally, your class can implement Seeds of the Future; an engaging, interactive and interdisciplinary teaching offering rooted in the core elements and competency objectives of the curriculum.

In Fremtidsfrø we follow Sara, a politically engaged girl who lives with her father Jonas on Fagervang farm where they mainly grow barley. The story begins with a young Sara holding an appeal at her school where she gives examples of how climate change is affecting the world. Not least, she appeals to the youth's involvement in the chocolate crisis #ChocLost; store shelves are empty of chocolate due to destroyed cocoa bean crops around the world. Crisis!

Readers are taken into a world where Sara and her friend Sebastian investigate how climate change affects nature, exemplified through Fagervang's barley crop. Through an engaging story where we meet Sara at several points in her life, students learn and play through digital games, an app trail with exciting tasks in their local environment, philosophical questions, and in-depth assignments.

Future Seeds aims to give students an insight into some of the complexity of living in a world where climate change, social and political conditions affect us as humans directly and indirectly. Future Seeds gives students the opportunity to reflect on and express attitudes and opinions related to these topics. The educational offering promotes learning by offering an interactive, engaging and different educational course.
