Vitenparken Campus Ås is one of 13 regional science centers in Norway and works to inspire and increase knowledge about science and technology in creative and innovative ways. We consider ourselves the green science center with a consistent focus on sustainability in all our offerings.
Our science hosts must therefore want to convey knowledge within science, the environment and sustainability with a background in relevant scientific research, and based on the Science Park's location in the university park at Ås.
We also run a first-class cafe; Andedammen cafe, where we serve food and service for various occasions, including conferences, weddings, summer parties and other gatherings. In our kitchen, we emphasize seasonal ingredients, local production and craftsmanship, and we produce some of our ingredients ourselves in our own kitchen garden. In addition, we brew our own beer in a microbrewery.
The Science Park's Science Hosts play a key role in making Vitenparken to a vibrant meeting place. In addition to working with the Science Park's communication to children and young people within science and sustainable development, our science hosts will assist with work in the café/barista, as well as with serving etc. at our conferences and other gatherings.
Our Science Hosts are the external face of the Science Park.
The position requires work on certain days and some evenings and weekends. Shifts are assigned in monthly rotations. At the same time, we facilitate flexibility as additional shifts are often posted on our shift desk, for those who want and have the capacity to work with
