What happens when you dig, build and demolish in a city? How can surplus and demolition waste be reused in a sustainable way and what are the challenges of old landfills ending up within urban and densely populated areas?
GreenSmart warmly welcomes you to the seminar with Professor Helen K. French on 2 September i Vitenparken There will be coffee, tea and food served.
The speakers:
Professor Helen K. French
Hydrogeologist from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (now the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, NMBU) with a PhD from 1999 on the topic of transport and degradation of deicing chemicals in the unsaturated zone at Gardermoen. Works with research projects related to water and pollution transport in the ground. Several of these projects have been at Gardermoen where a research station for experimental studies in the unsaturated zone has been established. Working methods are field and laboratory experiments including the use of geophysical measurement techniques and groundwater modeling. Responsible for three courses in hydrogeology at NMBU.
Cathrine Eckbo, NMBU/NGI
Cathrine Eckbo has a master's degree in environment and natural resources and is currently working as an environmental geologist at the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute (NGI). There, she works with contamination in soil, sediment and water. Cathrine will be speaking about circular concrete.
