We start at 19:00 with a lecture by Arne Nævra: "Nature's joy and nature's sorrow - thoughts at a campfire" . The event is free and open to everyone. Book free tickets at hoopla.no. The annual meeting starts at 20:00 in an adjacent room. Read more here.
Arne Nævra pours out his diverse insights, experience and knowledge, illustrated with pictures and film. He sees two existential threats to humanity: We have given the planet a fever, and we are in the process of destroying it. Nature is losing, every single day.
By the campfire, under the starry sky, Nævra reflects on Article 112 of the Constitution: The right to an environment that ensures health and a nature where productive capacity and diversity are preserved. Natural resources shall be managed in the long term, also with posterity in mind.
He asks the question: How must we think and what steps must be taken to preserve as much of nature as possible, the very foundation of all life?
After the lecture, Nævra will sign his recently published book "Nature and Us - Thoughts from Tents and Mail".
