Motivation and mastery among students with high learning potential
As a science center offers Vitenparken Talent Center Sustainability for students with high learning potential, especially in science and natural sciences. But who are students with high learning potential?
Students with high learning potential, also called gifted students, constitute a diverse and varied group. These are students who learn faster and acquire more complex knowledge compared to their peers. Many of these students may lose motivation for schoolwork if they are not given enough challenges. They may experience both social and academic exclusion in the classroom and are vulnerable to dropping out of school and education later in life.

18:00 – approx. 18:45 Researcher Jørgen Smedsrud: What characterizes students with great learning potential? Why are they vulnerable? How can we adapt education for them? Smedsrud presents current research.
