Campus Ås is for many still an undiscovered gem, halfway between Ski and Drøbak, close to beaches, Tusenfryd and Vestby Outlet.
Stop by Campus Ås to hear the fascinating story of the unique, listed buildings and the planning and operation of the park system on NMBU Campus.
Our very knowledgeable and charismatic guide Tove Blytt Holmen tells the story of Norway's first agricultural college, later a university, and the role this institution played in the modernization of Norway, from the 1850s to the present day.
The park offers no less than approximately 800 varieties of shrubs and trees, a rosarium established in 1965 and a perennial field with over 200 varieties of perennials. In addition, the park is known for its rich selection of Rhododendrons and a sea of different flower varieties!
The tour also includes a look inside Europe's most advanced building in veterinary medicine! The purpose-built building was completed on Campus Ås in the fall of 2021, for the tidy sum of 8.5 billion - and is also worth a visit.
