Taste the research #1
Are you interested in food, do you have an open mind and want to try something new? Join us on a food adventure for all your senses. Together with the food research institute Nofima, we invite you to a "science dinner" with a meal of carefully selected snacks and drinks, Wednesday 19 September at 7:00 PM.
We at Vitenparken runs an experience and science center for food, environment and climate, and we celebrate the Research Days 2018 together with Nofima – the Norwegian Institute of Food Research. Knowledge from the world of food research and dishes from the Science Park's kitchen will be served.
Communication-loving researchers and creative chefs
The host of the evening is Sissel Beate Rønning. She is a researcher who is probably more than average interested in food. She is a civil engineer in genetic engineering and has a doctorate on GMOs. After her doctorate, she worked with cancer research and human medicine, and became interested in why cancer cells do not stop signaling and thus just continue to grow. Today she works as a researcher at Nofima, where she researches food. How can we get good quality food? Is it healthy? Can we make it more environmentally friendly? What is the food of the future?
Sissel has two partners with her this evening, sensory officer Mads Erling Pedersen and Science Park's head chef Hafsteinn Snæland.
