The administration and the business community's expectations for synergies and collaboration within livestock, aquaculture and veterinary science
Seminar in Vitenparken Campus Ås 21 April 2022 at 16.00-21.15
Organizer: Vitenparken Campus Ås, NMBU Veterinary School, NMBU Department of Animal and Aquaculture Sciences, Veterinary Institute, Norwegian Veterinary Historical Society and Friends of the Science Park
In January 2008, the Storting decided that "NVH will be located at Ås and co-organized with UMB when new buildings for NVH and the Veterinary Institute are completed". A Joint Board prepared the merger, and the board made a decision to merge when the Storting allocated money for new buildings in 2013. The following year, NMBU saw the light of day and HM King Harald attended the official opening on 16 January 2014.
On 1 September 2021, the Veterinary School and the Veterinary Institute took over the new premises at Campus Ås. This concluded a long construction process and the veterinary, livestock and aquaculture community is looking forward to the new and modern research and teaching facilities now being put into use. These new, beautiful facilities are complemented by previously completed experimental centers, such as the Center for Livestock Experiments and the Center for Fish Experiments.
This seminar will focus on all the opportunities and synergies that co-location facilitates within research, as well as the expectations that government and business have of this powerhouse within the livestock, aquaculture and veterinary sciences.
The seminar is aimed at the central administrative and business organizations, employees and students at NMBU Veterinary School, NMBU Department of Animal and Aquaculture Sciences and the Veterinary Institute, as well as members of the Norwegian Veterinary Historical Society and the Friends of the Science Park.
The conference takes place at Vitenparken , but will also be streamed for those who are unable to attend in person. There will also be opportunities to sign up for a tour of the new Veterinary Building, so also choose the ticket called “tour”.
