Anders C. Krogh, Rainforest Foundation

Anders C. Krogh has been deeply involved in the fight for the tropical rainforest and the indigenous people's right to self-determination over their traditional territories all his life. He works for the Rainforest Foundation and is among the world's leading experts on indigenous peoples who still live without contact with the outside world. Krogh spent 18 months living with two indigenous groups in the Amazon, the Matsés and the Yine, in the inaccessible border regions between Peru and Brazil. In 1999, he discovered an unknown people – “the long-haired people”. His documentation helped this people's existence achieve official recognition in Peru in 2017. Krogh is a committed speaker and combines exciting personal stories with a unique insight into the tropical rainforest and the people who live there.

Torbjørn Haugaasen, TREcoL, NMBU

Torbjørn Haugaasen has extensive experience in tropical ecology and conservation biology. He has worked in the Amazon for over 25 years, as well as in Africa and Asia. His research interests are broad and include studies of plant-animal interactions, animal behavior, ecology and seasonality in floodplain forests, the impact of agricultural changes on biodiversity, and the ecology and management of forest resources.

Arild Angelsen, NMBU Business School

Arild Angelsen is a professor of environmental and development economics at NMBU School of Business. Over the past three decades, he has researched the causes of tropical deforestation, and the interaction with poverty and government policies. He has worked in particular on the forest-climate initiative (REDD+), and has edited four REDD+ books that have become standard references in the debate.
