Science Weekend: Sustainable Creators' Festival

Date: November 26th and 27th
Time: 11:00 – 15:00
Price: 100 NOK (free for adults accompanied by children). The ticket is valid for both days.
Do you dream of becoming an inventor and are interested in sustainability? Welcome to us at the Sustainable Creators' Party, where we focus on recycling, tinkering and, not least, creativity and the joy of creating.
We will have lots of exciting activities and creative guests who will showcase their creative inventions and projects.
Vitenparken will have more activities.
Saturday and Sunday:
“Become a new day” for stuffed animals
Bring a stuffed animal that needs a makeover! We make superhero costumes, knight armor, vehicles and lots of fun accessories for the stuffed animals you have with you. Give your teddy bear a second chance!
Iron-on label workshop
Let your creativity flow as we cut and assemble vinyl scraps into colorful fantasy figures and magical mosaics. Feel free to bring clothes and shopping bags from home that could use a little color, or buy something cheaply from us.
Colored creeps
The world is full of amazing, colorful insects, but unfortunately many of them are in danger of extinction. Come and color an insect you would like to learn a little more about.
Inventions that save the world
Have you tried making a “pet-friendly, self-charging helicopter” before? Or how about a “lift-powered, jumping lamp”? In this workshop, you will be challenged to design and build cool and useful inventions provided by our magical “Invention Generator”.
Random art
Sometimes it can be nice to not have to think for yourself, and just let chance decide. Maybe you can program a BitBot to drive around and create random art? When the job is done, just sit back and enjoy the result.
More information coming soon.
Sunday only:
Embroidery magic
Our good friends from Inspiria have brought everything you need to create your own patterns that can later be sewn with a embroidery machine. Bring something you want the pattern sewn onto, or use something we have available.
Aurora Bratli Brunvoll (at 1:00 PM)
In 2020, Aurora Bratli Brunvoll won a design award for her master's project, in which she concretely expresses the climate crisis through ration cards designed to limit consumption. On Sunday, she will be at the Sustainable Creators Festival to tell us more about the project. Come and be inspired!

Katerina Medbøe Eriksen (at 1:00 PM)
Katerina Medbøe Eriksen is one of the driving forces behind Circular Way Design, which with her projects and designs wants to work for the environment and social inclusion. On Sunday she will come to the Sustainable Creator Festival to tell more about her work. Come too, then! In addition to exciting mini-lectures, there will be lots of fun workshops and inspiring activities.
