Frequently asked questions about the Talent Center
Who can apply for a place at the Sustainability Talent Center?
All students who have the right to education under the public school system, who are in the 7th grade to the 2nd grade of upper secondary education in the participating year, have the opportunity to apply to participate.
How often do students participate?
The Talent Center has 4 to 6 gatherings a year. Each gathering lasts 2 or 3 days. A detailed plan for gatherings and times will be sent out to all students who are offered a place at the end of May/beginning of June. All gatherings at the Talent Center take place during school hours.
Do students get absences when they attend the talent center?
The Talent Center is an offer of adapted education under the Education Act. This means that students who participate in the Talent Center are not absent from their regular home school.
For primary school students, participation is regulated by the 25% rule in the Education Act. For upper secondary school students, the hours the student attends at the talent centre are coded "other education".
How do you apply?
The application must be submitted via three digital application forms, one for the student, one for the teacher/school and one for the guardian. Applications where forms are missing will not be considered. More information about the application process will be forthcoming.
How much does it cost to attend the science talent center?
The Talent Center in Science is a free public service for students with great learning potential. The Talent Center follows the free principle in Norwegian education and it is free for students to participate.
Where does the teaching take place?
Teaching takes place primarily at Vitenparken Campus Ås.
