Plant genetics is the study of genes, genetic variation, and inheritance in plants. This is a field of biology and botany. Plants, like all other living organisms, use DNA to pass on their characteristics.

Plant physiology
Plant physiology is the study of plant processes and functions, how these are affected by changes in the environment, and how this leads to plant growth and development. The individual processes that take place in plant cells are of a biophysical and biochemical nature.
