Post 2: Climate dilemma
The different varieties contain the genes that are the basis for climate adaptation of our grains and vegetables. But the varieties quickly disappear when they are no longer grown, and with them the unique gene combinations. This gives us a smaller selection of genes to play with when we have to adapt our food plants to a future with a different climate.
