Cocoa Crisis! a teaching program about sustainability and food security
Subject : Nature management
Stage: High School
Let us take you on a fictional, but not unimaginable future scenario: the store shelves are almost empty of chocolate. No Quick Lunch for the ski trip, no chocolate cake for the birthday. Why? There is a crisis in the chocolate industry; cocoa bean production worldwide is threatened by extreme weather and poor social conditions. How are we going to achieve sustainable agriculture in a world characterized by climate change and unsustainable social conditions for farmers?
Join us for an interdisciplinary, different and engaging teaching program in five parts, developed for nature studies in upper secondary school 1.
Students play through a digital short story, solve tasks in their local environment with our app course, and practice taking a position on complex and current academic claims.
Cocoa Crisis! is currently being translated into Ukrainian and Russian.
