Vacancy: Vitenparken looking for Science hosts

The Science Park is looking for new employees with great communication skills (part-time/on-call) 

Vitenparken is looking for several new employees to strengthen our staff of Science Hosts (part-time employees/on-call) . The Science Park's Science Hosts contribute to making Vitenparken a vibrant and playful meeting place where children and young people have the opportunity to explore and learn within science and sustainable development . Our Science Hosts are the outward face of the Science Park! 

Are you a born communicator, a true technology enthusiast, passionate about innovation and sustainability and /or love to work hands-on, then maybe you are the person we are looking for ? Vitenparken has several exciting activities underway and is looking for you who want to create green knowledge experiences.

Vitenparken will deliver summer school, participate in festivals, hold weekend activities and visit schools with educational programs.

 

Vitenparken is looking for someone who enjoys communicating and can be the star in small and large gatherings. It is an advantage if you are passionate about communicating within science topics such as food science, technology and programming, sustainability and innovation . 

Science hosts provide services to children and young people throughout the school year, and we have a special need during the summer. Summer holiday activities will take place during the day. Other activities will mainly be in the afternoons and weekends, but our Science hosts also contribute to the implementation of our school services during school hours. 

There will be mandatory training in advance of the programs, both in pedagogy , classroom management and the academic content. in the activities. 

Vitenparken Campus Ås is the twelfth regional science center in Norway and works to inspire and increase knowledge about science and technology in creative, innovative ways. We consider ourselves the green knowledge center and actively use food as a storytelling tool and gateway to science subjects. 

Our educators must therefore want to convey knowledge about food, the environment and sustainability with a background in relevant scientific research, and based on the Science Park's location in the university park at Ås.

 All employees must provide a certificate of good conduct upon employment . 

Personal characteristics :

  • You are gentle, outgoing and like to communicate. 
  • You are particularly fond of inspiring children and young people, but also confident enough to communicate to adults.
  • You are flexible and creative 
  • You are practical and solution-oriented.

Then you might be exactly who we are looking for. 

 In addition, it is an advantage if you:

  • Do you have experience in simple programming or other science subjects? 
  • likes to take pictures
  • are a student at NMBU or other university
  • can work both weekdays, weekends and evenings
  • loves science and is passionate about sustainability
