Teaching program

AN ENGAGING TEACHING PROGRAM

Plant Heritage is a teaching program about how Norwegian vegetable and grain varieties can contribute to taste, climate adaptation and genetic diversity in a future where both nature and society are changing. It is an engaging teaching program that starts with a preparatory work of about 15-20 minutes in the form of a digital, graphic novel . Then, the students will go through a teaching path , where the students learn about aspects of varietal diversity through different future scenarios. Here, the students must make some choices and there are various activities and tasks they must solve along the way. The path takes about 90 minutes, and requires access to a mobile phone or tablet with internet access.

It also includes an educational film and suggestions for follow-up work.

INFECTION PROTECTION

Vitenparken follows infection control rules and procedures approved by the municipal chief physician in Ås. We can accept groups of up to 16 students. If there are more of you, you can come over several days. Classes that still do not have the opportunity to visit Vitenparken due to infection control reasons, you will be able to receive a “Plant Heritage Fund”. It contains all the necessary equipment and you can thus implement (a simpler version) of the program at your school.
