The film If I Were an Earthworm (Hvis jeg var en meitemark) explores the parallels between artistic creation and the natural world — where observation, growth, and transformation follow both predictable and mysterious patterns. Through poetic images and quiet reflection, artist Unni Gjertsen examines how creativity and nature mirror each other.
Opening event: October 25 at 12:00. Exhibition is open 12:00-15:00 on October 25 and 11:00 – 15:00 on October 26.

About the Film
In this 28-minute film, visual artist, filmmaker, and writer Unni Gjertsen takes us on a personal and philosophical journey. While working on a series of paintings, her heart rate monitor suddenly signals alarm — and she begins to reflect:
“How can we observe time and creativity in nature through the seasons?
What is the difference between perception and the kind of knowledge that requires scientific instruments and measurement?”
The film follows Gjertsen as she observes her surroundings — the soil, the seasons, and her own body. Her artistic process becomes intertwined with biology, hormones, and her relationship with the living world around her: the farms where she collects food and the small wooden planter in her own backyard.
Through her lens, we are invited to slow down and sense the deep connection between humans and nature — between making art and being alive.
